Before the holidays, I had the pleasure of setting up a photo session with Kristin Vucina Photography. My vision was to get photos taken of both of my children for Christmas and their birthdays. I wanted to have the photos taken in a natural environment and was hoping we could make this work even though the weather was starting to get colder. Kristin and I discussed my thoughts and she came up with a plan to make it happen.
We could not have lucked out on the weather for our session. It was a balmy December day which was perfect. I failed to mention that part of the challenge for these photos was that it was December and my daughter's birthday was in August. Yes, I was slacking a bit and didn't get them done when I should have so I wanted to try and make it look like it was summer even though it was winter and we were outside with all of the barren trees. This challenge was one that Kristin was ready to face head on. We met at a park in Howard County and Kristin had gotten there early to scope out the best places for our photos. She met us with a warm and friendly welcome and my children immediately became comfortable with her. This in my opinion is HUGE. Since they were comfortable with her we were able to get lots of genuine smiles and expressions.
My children are very spirited and imaginative with lots of ideas. Once they get ideas in their heads they love to share them and want to see them become a reality. Kristin lead us to different spots for photos and while we were taking these pictures my little ones were constantly throwing out ideas of what pictures, poses, and places to take the photos. Kristin was truly amazing and let them feel like they were a part of deciding these special aspects of the photos. She was able to keep us on task and get the shots taken in the places that were pre-planned while also allowing them to share their ideas and take a couple of special shots. They were so excited and their energy showed throughout the session.
We successfully got Christmas and birthday photos for both children and it was AMAZING! This was truly the best experience we have had and I can't thank and recommend Kristin enough.
