With Halloween being a Saturday this year, there is a lot more time to celebrate. Since we have to be a little more creative this year to stay safe during Covid, here are 19 ways to celebrate and still have Halloween fun at home:
- Watch Halloween Movies and Cartoons
- Carve Pumpkins
- Roast Pumpkin Seeds
- I Spy Halloween Decorations Game: Make a list of Halloween items and see who can find the most while taking a family walk through the neighborhood.
- Paint Pumpkins
- Roast Marshmallows and make S'mores over your outdoor fire pit.
- Have a Dance Party to Halloween Music.
- Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt in your own backyard to find treats.
- Be creative with glow-in-the-dark paint and face paint. Then when it gets dark go outside or turn the lights out to see your creations.
- Video chat with friends and show off your costume.
- Have a decorating contest: Each family member has to decorate something in the house (i.e. room, door, etc) and vote for a winner.
- Read Halloween themed books as a family.
- Make up scary stories and tell them in the dark with a flashlight.
- Have a backyard camp out.
- Make Halloween themed treats and meals.
- Have a glow-in-the-dark Halloween themed egg hunt.
- Decorate your own Halloween mask.
- Make Halloween themed crafts.
- Have a glow stick party.
